Monash Council Elections 2008

Monash Ratepayers Association is not going to be asking candidates why and what do they hope to achieve if elected. Their replies will not be honest answers, they will be what they think will convince residents to vote for them.  After all several admitted to the papers that they did not give out their phone numbers as they were to busy and didn’t want to be bothered with ratepayers ringing them up.  If this is the case how are they going to be able to represent the people of Monash in Council?

Voters be aware that many candidates are runners or dummy’s as highlighted by the Monash Journal and Monash Leader newspapers. One example is a candidate in Mt. Waverley Ward who did not provide a contact phone number but in his 150 words states that he is a Liberal supporter and criticizes council for employing a consultant to tell council what are the needs of the baby boomers (70’s+) and refers to overseas trips (junkets) yet he gives his first preference to Joy Banerji who is one of the councillors who voted for the items that he states are outrageous and further states that he will donate his allowance to charity. He treats voters as fools. We urge voters to carefully consider who they elect to govern us for the next four years. The past six years have been quite traumatic owing to the lack of community representation or concern for the needs of Residents/Ratepayers of the City of Monash.

Monash Ratepayers Association recommends residents consider supporting the following Candidates.

Glen Waverley Ward

Manzie Dane

Chan Sin Fong
