Let’s consider Cr Lakes actions as a Councillor

·    2002 / 2003 Cr Lake vs. Cr Vlahos : Accusations of corruption which were proven to be unfounded.

·    2002 / 2003 Cr Lake vs. Morrissey : Court intervention order against Cr lake“for Stalking”

·    2003   Cr Morrissey : instigated legal action over defamation by Cr Lake in the Council Chambers

·    2004   Cr Lake vs Cr Solity  :  Proceeding at the equal opportunity board for stalking and harassment.

·    2005  Cr Lake vs. J.Davis : Dismissed the Hall committee with false claims of misappropriation of  funds, later proven by Council appointed Auditor to be unfounded.

In the opinion of the Ratepayers Association as the 2002/03 Mayor Cr Lake has abused and disgraced the office of the Mayor.

During his time as a Councillor and Mayor he has been accused of:

·         Misleading  Council that Cr Morrissey used the funds of Waste Management Committee to pay for his wife’s over seas trips.

·    Involved in using a fellow Councillor’s credit card for the purchase of alcohol

·    Involved in forging another Councillor’s signature for the purchase of goods without her consent.

·    Abused a Councillor which was the subject of an equal opportunity case.

·    Has shown a complete lack of respect to his fellow Councillors

·    Intimidated fellow Councillors to vote for him as Mayor.

·    Using his casting vote to pass inaccurate Council minutes.

·    False statements during Council meetings to mislead his fellow Councillors.

·    Tried to evict from the gallery at a Council meeting a past Mayor of Monash.

·    Refusing to wear the robes of the office of Mayor at official functions and to dress appropriately.

·    Ignoring points of order from several councillors.

·    Failing to acknowledge councillors concerns at Council meetings.

·    Two sworn statements were tabled in Parliament by Hon. Maree Luckins that questioned the method use by Cr Lake surrounding his appointment as Mayor of Monash and also refers to the threats used against a fellow Councillor to gain their vote to support him as Mayor.

·    Was part of a vicious attack on a fellow councilor over the election of the Mayor.

Is this what we want from our elected councillors.
