Meals On wheels volunteer quits after 15 years as a volunteer.

Meals on wheels volunteers are angry at a Monash Council policy that forbids them taking children on their rounds.

For 15 years volunteer Jillian Malin had regularly taken children in the car with her when delivering meals.

The South Oakleigh resident said she was out raged by the stricter policy, which had came out of the blue.

I’ve had children with me in the past and it’s never been an issue Mrs Malin said you build a relation ship with the older people and they love to see kids.

(But) once the council gets some thing set in their mind you can’t do anything about it”.

Mrs Malin said she would never again volunteer for Monash Council again

I got no thank you for 15 years of service, she said”.

The recent dismissal of the Oakleigh Economic Form, Warrawee Committee and two Volunteer Committees of HALLS Management under dubious reasons.

And now Meals on Wheels is being attacked!!! These volunteers are all related to Oakleigh and the southern end of the Municipality. What are the Ward Councillors doing to stem the bleeding of volunteers ? Their silence is deafening!!!!

Who is next on the list?????
