Cr lake again disgraces the City of Monash 4/04/2007

At the council meeting 3rd April 2007 Cr lake again disgraced the City of Monash I refer to item 5.5 Townsend Street Glen Waverley - Application to remove a tree

Council officers proposed a refusal for the following reasons

1.     The proposal is contrary to the purpose and objectives of the Vegetation Protection Over (Clause 42.02) of the Monash Planning Scheme.

2.     The proposal will not achieve the intent of the Municipal Strategic Statement t to enhance the Garden City Character of the Monash Planning Scheme.

3.     The proposal is contrary to the policies and objectives of the tree Conservation policy (Clause 22.05) of the Monash Planning Scheme.

The comments of Cr lake has insulted the integrity of the Senior officers of Monash. He stated in his address to the council and packed gallery (this is the reason for his play acting) that the officers got it wrong stating that the recommendation of a refusal to remove the tree was not in accordance with the applicants Arborist report.

Does this now mean that Monash Council must in future accept the applicant reports and not the recommendation of our highly paid and professional town planners?

Does this also mean that Monash does not have a policy on tree removal." We hope not”

Cr lakes extremely long and boring address to the council showed the contempt that this Councillor has for the administration and authority of the chairman, the chairman on several occasions ask Cr Lake to close his address with out success.

This is just another chapter in the monash ratepayers web site “Cr Lake file”

We again call for his dismissal from council.

Jack Davis President Monash Ratepayers Assoc.Inc.
