Re: Clayton Redevelopment Land Sale

At the Council meeting on 18th Sept, Cr. McCall referred to an alleged copy of minutes of 2002, stating that Jack Davis, Past President of Monash Ratepayers Association, had no objection to the sale of surplus land.

That document was not tabled why?

I have asked for a copy of those alleged minutes from the administration, I was told that they could not provide them.

Cr. McCall was responding to a letter to the Editor, Monash Journal 17th September 2005.

In that letter, I stated that as a member of the Clayton Pool Redevelopment Consultative Committee, I objected to sale of any land until the redevelopment was completed.

I also stated, that as a Member of that Committee, I had asked Council to inform the Committee “What land was considered surplus?” and “What were the boundaries of the redevelopment?”, as the drawing provided to the Committee showed no measurements or location of surrounding streets.

That request was never address by Council.

McCall stated that, the recent meeting of the Consultative Committee meeting two weeks ago “What meeting!”, Monash Ratepayers Association as members of that Committee, were not advised of any recent meeting.

And to recall the great words of Cr McCall, “Ratepayers and residents are going to this time shake the ‘sh…’ out of the Council tree.”

Your behaviour to Cr Solity was a disgrace.

As for correct procedure at Council meeting you have learned little in 2 years.

By McCall’s actions and inactions in this and many other issues concerning the City of Monash; it will be my personal recommendation that residents place McCall last on any ballot paper he may place is name and to vote for Candidates who mean what they say and do what they mean.

Jack Davis J.P
